Grocery Store
You are halfway through the grocery shopping, just need a few more items when suddenly your child has a full blown meltdown because you said no to getting them a skittles. Or was it M&Ms? you aren’t sure at this point because all you feel are people’s stares and your heart racing from the embarrassment you feel. This happens so often to parents and it can be intimidating and frustrating. Often parents are not sure what they can do in this situation.
Triple P- the Positive Parenting Program, does have some suggestions. It focuses on emphasizing the positive in children and establishing communication with them. The program can help deal with challenging situations such as big tantrums from the children.
After a few sessions with Triple P the parent started learning some things they may have been doing that influenced the tantrums and accidentally encouraged them. They then learned ways to prevent them and started seeing that those moments happened less often.
But they still happened and the parents still felt lost in this situation. Triple P then talked about ways to handle problem situations and teach children better behavior. It emphasized to them how to use assertive discipline to teach the child.
Towards the end the parents started feeling more confident in themselves. And started having easier times at the store. Now they can shop and feel comfortable in avoiding the tantrums and interrupting them immediately without feeling so anxious.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
